Positioned between Kyle Yip’s VEXILLUM series and the oneirically sourced works of RENAISSANCE SHOW, this painting inaugurates a transitional visual grammar—where art history, commercial semiotics, and psychic foresight intersect. Referencing the codified aesthetics of Memphis Design, anime, and early advertising, the composition channels the flattened intensity of design culture while invoking painting as a meta-critical apparatus: art that interrogates its own histories, functions, and futures. Its graphic immediacy masks subtle compositional interventions, which operate less as technique than as embedded logic. What first appears as homage to decorative systems reveals itself, upon closer inspection, as a speculative field of encoded visual memory—forecasting the symbolic architectures later encountered in dreams. Situated within a continuum of works that reflect upon the structures of seeing, this piece proposes painting as both mnemonic surface and ontological threshold: a recursive artefact in which citation, saturation, and self-reflexivity converge.

Love the new artwork in my office and living room. It lifts us up everyday, acts as a conversation piece in Zoom calls, and we love the most being able to support artists in our communities as well.
